These are a few local organisations and activities we regularly use,
participate in, or engage with in various ways.
Crickhowell TV Cracking U-tube shorts showcasing the best of Crickhowell -  see especially, 'Totally Locally Crickhowell', 'In and Around Town', and 'Community Matters', and other insights into local community activities and campaigns.  Fantastic local initiative.  Take a look and you'll be impressed and inspired!
CRiC Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre - modern building in the middle of Crickhowell which provides information to locals and tourists alike.  Also houses the Oriel CRiC art gallery, Volunteer Bureau, local Archive Centre, conference rooms and coffee shop with Wi-Fi.
Crickhowell Walking Festival Nine days of Guided Walks and Events in and around Crickhowell and the Black Mountains, to suit all ages and abilities.  Walks are lead by experienced walk leaders and local experts, and there is an accompanying programme of lively and varied evening Events.  In 2016, the Crickhowell Walking Festival will run from Sat 27th February to Sun 6th March
Table Mountain walkk 'Lighting up our Mountain' - mass torchlight walk up Table Mountain at the start of the 2014 Walking Festival, with scrumptious songs on top (sung by Crick Howlers and others).
Crick Howlers Informal weekly singing group - lots of fun and glorious harmony singing.
CDAC Crickhowell and District Archive Centre - good source of local historical information and family research
Arts Alive Arts Alive Wales is a well-run and well-used charitable organisation based in the old primary school in Crickhowell which provides arts and crafts courses and activities throughout the year, from basket-making to creative writing and print-making.
BBNP Brecon Beacons National Park - all about this lovely South Wales Park established in 1957, covering 519 square miles (1344 sq km).  It stretches from Llandeilo in the west to Hay-on-Wye in the northeast and Pontypool in the southeast, covering 519 square miles (1344 km˛) and encompassing four main regions – the Black Mountain peak in the west, Fforest Fawr (Great Forest) and the Brecon Beacons in the centre, and the Black Mountains section in the east.  The whole park includes mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, vintage railways, canals, castles and priories, caves, mines, festivals, old market towns - and was awarded 'Dark Skies' status in 2013.
Brecknock Wildlife Trust Our local Wildlife Trust which works hard to maintain 22 local reserves.  Habitats include wild flower meadows, woodlands where dormice nest and rare orchids grow, tumbling streams, ponds inhabited by Great Crested Newts, and wild heath land and rich river valleys. 
Barking Mad National agency which provides holiday homes for dogs - local branch in Monmouth.  We enjoy our periodic visits from canine friends, and it's a useful way of taking extra daily exercise!
Pilates Online Local (and online) Pilates classes run by Kate Falkner - an expert and inspiring teacher.
